THE PRE-ADAMIC WORLD - Conclusion: When the Foundations Trembled

Job 38
8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

When God caused the waters of this pre-adamic flood to brake forth in judgment, this was not a case of rapid and continuously rising water levels... such as it was with the flood of Noah's day. The waters "broke forth"... this was a flood that exploded forth from within. Imagine if you will, a water balloon filled to its breaking point. What happens when this balloon explodes? The water instantly explodes outward in all directions at the same time. I believe this is what happened with this flood. The magnitude and the power of the explosion was such that the tops of the mountains were submerged to an even greater depth than that of Noah's flood. And like a professional photographer capturing a picture, the Lord froze this flood instantly in the midst of its explosion. Now the earth would seem to have no discernible shape as the circumference is covered in a flood frozen at the peak of its explosion. Just like a water balloon frozen in time at the peak of its explosion... there's not really a shape to a water explosion.

This is the finale to this judgment. However there, is much that happened prior to this climax. And you must understand, what we are seeing here is not a glimpse of sinners in the hands of an angry God... but a world fallen under the judgment of a furious God!

Job 9
5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not; which overturneth them in his anger;

Here we see a God so angry He moves mountains out of their places. Not only does He move them, but He turns them upside down. Now people of God, I believe these Scriptures to be an account of literal events. I also believe that once you get to know the Lord you will understand that there is a purpose behind everything that He does. This is not an instance of someone throwing a tantrum, and over turning things to let everyone know that they're mad at not getting their way. So what was the reason?

Well for starters, the uprooting and turning upside down of mountains are a judgment. For such a judgment to fall upon the mountains, there must have been sin present somewhere pertaining to them. But seeing how as the mountains are part of the creation of the earth that was considered perfect and beautiful... they couldn't have been the source of the sin being judged. So in following the sin/judgment pattern previously established...we know that in order for sin to exist there must be a sinner, or sinners. In order for them to fall under such a classification, they must enter into rebellion against God. This tells me that there were inhabitants in rebellion against God either on, within, or possibly beneath these mountains. Is there a Scriptural basis for coming to such a conclusion? Absolutely.

Revelation 6
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

People of God, there is no new thing under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 1
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

God moves in prophetic circles and patterns. If you desire to know what's ahead, you must be willing to look back at what has been... It's all in the bible. For it is the joy of the Holy Spirit to reveal the deep things of God to those resting in the love of Jesus Christ. You really don't have to go anywhere else.

So we see now that God has become furious with those that have made themselves His enemies by way of rebellion.

Job 9
6 which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble;
7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars;

He shakes the earth out of its place. God was so angry, He commanded the sun not to rise and sealed up the stars. Since when has man ever known God to be so angry that He turns the mountains upside down, shakes the earth out of its place, commands the sun not to rise, and seals up the stars? Has anything like this ever happened since man has been on this earth? No. Does this happen at the during the tribulation or the return of Christ? No. Does this happen during the millennial reign? No. What about when the new heavens and the new earth are created? Not even then....this had to have been a pre-adamic event. There was a supernatural darkness that Egypt experienced as a result of judgment, but it was not world wide. During the great tribulation, darkness shall invade the kingdom of the anti-christ, but it will not be world wide. I don't believe Job 9:5-7 can be post-adamic. This happened at some point between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. Concerning the darkness, the Lord not only sealed up the sun, but all stars in an instant. This brings us to the finale of this judgment, which was the explosive flood that froze instantly due to the absence of the sun and stars. The earth remains in this state for possibly billions of years. When God is finally ready to begin the work of restoration He rebukes this frozen flood. This causes the ice to instantaneously melt and the waters to shoot back down the mountains. So why the rebuke? Because the sun has not come into play yet, neither have the stars. There is no source of heat, so the Lord simply rebukes this flood in the power of the Holy Spirit. Now we arrive at Genesis 1:2 where the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters... and what is the first thing God said on the first day of restoration?

Genesis 1
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Notice the word "let". The Hebrew word for let is a word of permission, not creation. You will never see the word let used in conjunction with creation. Let there be light... in other words, let the light that shined before shine again. What was the source of this light? Remember, the sun and stars have not come back into operation yet. I believe it was the unveiled glory of His presence. On another note, you will never find anywhere in the Scriptures where it is stated that God created the sun in the Genesis account. The Scriptures clearly state that He made it... as in made it to shine again as it did before.

Genesis 1
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Here we see the restoration of the rotation of the earth. The earth was sealed. It was not in rotation nor was it orbiting anything. The sun was not in operation yet, all stars were sealed... friends this pertained to the entire universe. Everything was sealed.

Genesis 1
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

So now, God restores the light, He restores the rotation of the earth, day and night...but now everything is flooded because the ice that has melted.

Genesis 1
7 And God made a firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

God separates the waters from the waters restoring our atmosphere.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Let the dry land appear tells me that the land was already there, but covered with water.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

God took a portion of this flood and restores the atmosphere, then He gathers the rest into its place restoring the seas, and the ground is uncovered. It was flooded....

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

This tells me that God did not create the grass, or the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind at this point. It existed prior but was wiped out by the flood. Notice He said let the earth bring forth...it was already there.

The prophet Jeremiah was given a vision by the Holy Spirit of this earth at a point in its pre-adamic judgment to illustrate the severity of the judgment coming upon Israel. I believe what he saw was the state of the earth prior to the explosion of water and the sealing of the sun and stars.

Jeremiah 4
23 I beheld earth, and, lo, it was without form and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

Notice this verse is a picture of Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. But Jeremiah is allowed to see a bit more than what is revealed in Genesis 1:2.

Jeremiah 4
24 I beheld the mountains and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

Remember Job 9:5-7 when He spoke of the mountains and the pillars trembling? This is what Jeremiah is seeing here. There was a shaking of the whole earth.

Jeremiah 4
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

This is the same picture seen in Job 38, the floods come when there was no man.... And all the birds of the heavens were fled? What birds?

Jeremiah 4
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.

There was a fruitful place that became wilderness with the destruction of the earth. And all the cities? What cities when the earth was void and without form and in darkness? Jeremiah saw the ruins of cities during this time. And Jeremiah is not the only one that saw this...the prophet Isaiah was allowed by the Spirit to see the same thing.

Isaiah 24
1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants therof.

We have not seen anywhere in the scriptures where the earth was ever in such a state....except Genesis 1:2. So not only was this earth without form, void, in perfect darkness, and covered in a frozen flood... it was upside down. The north pole was the south pole and the south pole was the north pole. What about these scattered inhabitants? Who were they? What did they look like? They couldn't have been descendants of Adam, and I believe the prophet Isaiah knew what God was talking about. The conclusion that I've come to is that these inhabitants who lived prior to Adam became the demons we deal with today. Demons are still on the earth by the billions. They cause a lot of the havoc and turmoil that happens here on earth. They are behind most of the entertainment that comes out of Hollywood. Their influence can be seen and even felt through video games, books, and even cartoons. Many, many demons show up at church as nowadays they don't have anything to fear! We hardly see demonic manifestations like those that take place in regions like India, Africa, or the Philippines... and I believe that to be because of the presence of the true Christians here in America, and the restraining power of the Holy Spirit. Now some believe that demons are fallen angels... I do not, and there are Scriptural reasons as to why. But I think I will save those explanations for the next series of posts. But I think I can hit on a few highlights here as it pertains to this specific subject.

The Scriptures in Isaiah 14 begins by describing the demise of Satan, but then goes back to his origins to explain who he was. Most start at verse 12, but the scriptures really begin to speak about him at verse 4.

Isaiah 14
4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

Satan is called here, the king of Babylon.

Isaiah 14
5 The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers.

The wicked... that's Satan. The rulers... those were his chiefs and principalities.

Isaiah 14
6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

This Scripture is not talking about a man or some earthly ruler. This is not king Nebuchadnezzar. This scripture is addressing Satan.

Isaiah 14
7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

This verse deals with the future.

Isaiah 14
8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

Even nature will rejoice at his demise.

Isaiah 14
9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of nations.
10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become as weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: and the worms cover thee.
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

The Scriptures were speaking of him the whole time starting from verse four. Here he was addressed as the king of Babylon. Something else of importance here concerning his name. He was called Lucifer. Notice that the name of God is not contained in his name.

Three archangels. Michael, Gabriel... These two remained with God. Lucifer was named thus, God knowing that one day he would turn against Him. The name of God is not connected with Lucifer. El is His name. Elohim is the plural used for the trinity of God. There is no El in Lucifer.  The name Lucifer is actually the Latin designation for the morning star (literally "Light-bearer")  Notice in verse 12, he is cut down to the ground. Destroyed, dismantled. The Scriptures called him the king of Babylon. Babylon is mentioned in the book of Revelation. This is part of why I do not believe Babylon to simply be a city that will show up during the great tribulation, but I believe it to be a world system that Satan will rule over. Also notice the nations mentioned in verse twelve. What nations existed when Lucifer was cut down to the ground? What nations did he weaken as Lucifer? There were nations then... this was billions of years ago.

Isaiah 14
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

This is where sin began. The very fact that he said he would ascend shows that he was not there. Lucifer had a throne he wanted to exalt. This means he had a kingdom. He was a king. He wanted to exalt his throne above the stars of God... the angels. Remember Job 38. The sons of God, the stars of God, it means angels. Lucifer wanted to exalt his throne above Michael, above Gabriel, above all other angels. Heaven, God's throne, the city of the great King is in the north. (Psalm 48:1,2)

Isaiah 14
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

His sin was wanting to be equal with God.

Isaiah 14
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake the kingdoms;
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his house.
19 But thou art cast forth like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

The devil is going to be like an old ruined garment thrust through with a sword.

So here we see a perfect earth, that was ruled by a perfect and holy angel. This angel became jealous and convinced all of the inhabitants of the earth that God was their enemy. The inhabitants join Lucifer in rebellion, along with a third of all angels, and they were cast out. Lucifer was cut down to the ground the Scriptures say, and God destroyed the earth in great wrath. This earth was formerly Lucifer's domain...
