Take The Exit

Matthew 7
13
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 7
14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Every human being that has ever lived or ever will live will walk the broad highway of life. At the end of this road are the gates of Hell. Upon reaching that prison/waiting area the inhabitants will eventually come to a steep drop off into the Lake of Fire prepared for Satan and his angels. They will be tormented day and night... throughout all of the pages of eternity. However, before this destination is reached there is an exit that will appear on this highway. There is only one... but it will appear many times along the way.

The majority will not take this exit. In fact, the severe eternal consequences of ignoring this exit is not even a reality in the hearts of the majority. There are also those that believe they've taken this exit... only to be met with the indescribable horror in the end when they realize that they actually took a false exit. A detour set up by the enemy that leads to the same destination as the broad way. And sadly, some will actually begin down the correct exit, but then decide that they like the broad way better and turn back to it.

1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.

The most hated and fought truth in all of the world and in all of Christendom is the sharing of the reality of what Christ saved us from. You will hear across the denominations that God is love. That Jesus Christ saves... but you will never hear any details our truth about what exactly it is that you were saved from. The seeker sensitive answer is we were saved from being separated from God. There is truth in that answer, but there is no power. What does separation from God mean? Is He going to stand me in a corner somewhere by myself while everyone else gets to party with Him? Is He going to sit me in an eternal time-out or something. There are those lost that are of the opinion that this doesn't sound too bad, and would actually prefer this to God's company. There are even Christians that will turn there backs on God because of this truth, or abandon a church community that dares to share these things. I'm of the opinion that those who abandon a church or Christian community because they don't like what the scriptures say were never really there to begin with anyway. But that doesn't mean that we should ever cease to remember them in prayer. Remember them... and remember those in leadership positions at our churches that deem it counter productive to preach the Truth of God's Word in its entirety. They will have much to answer for in the end.

May the Spirit of the Lord make us all worthy to escape the snare coming upon all the world, and to stand before the Son of man at our appointed times.
